Insurance Underwriter Responsibilities:
- Working on life and supplemental accident and health insurance products for individuals, families, businesses, and associations
- Review insurance applications relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to evaluate degree of risk to determine acceptance of applicants
- Classify and rate each risk.
- Maintain and develop agency and/ or broker relationships
Insurance Underwriter Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of insurance experience, as well as related insurance underwriting knowledge
- Must be able to evaluate information from a variety of sources and complex problems
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred, but not required
