Tech Support Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve documentation to aid resolution to client problems.
  • Supervise the unit prep process.
  • Work with IT personnel to help solve issues including firewall, connectivity and security related issues, video transmission and distribution issues.
  • Intermediary between the help desk staff and the development team.
  • Suggest changes and improvements to the software.
  • Provide desktop and laptop support.

Tech Support Specialist Skills and Requirements:

  • Help desk experience with Windows and Linux troubleshooting.
  • Experience with firewalls and network appliances, troubleshooting connectivity and download issues.
  • Curiosity about technology and a desire to find the root cause of issues and learn new things.
  • Politeness, patience, persistence, and an ability to work with both client and personnel.
  • Ability to work with clients on solving problems and lead them to correct solutions without problem.
  • Ability to document actions taken, in writing, in both a ticketing system and help desk knowledge base — training will be critical to this position.
