AP Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate posting and paying of all approved vendor invoices.
  • Hire and train accounts payable staff to timely process large volume of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Ensure proper approvals are obtained for each invoice prior to processing.
  • Research and install paperless AP system that includes workflow for electronic approval of all invoices.
  • Effectively set up workflow and continue to improve prosses.
  • Review all CDK payable reports (APS) to ensure timely processing.
  • Oversee production of all 1099 reports ensuring timely filing with required state and federal law.
  • Reviews all W9 records annually and ensures process in place to prevent check issued without a necessary W9.
  • Document all processes in book format to be used as training manual.
  • Provide communication with management as it relates to accounts payable.

AP Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • Accounting Degree Preferred.
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable Manager experience.
  • Ability to communicate with Shared Services, department managers, and personnel in a professional manner.
  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing core responsibilities.
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must work effectively with internal and external teams, communicating and participating in a constructive manner.
  • Experience handling high volume of paperwork for multiple internal and external customers.
  • Strong mathematical/analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates the behaviors of servant leadership while prioritizing team member needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and fostering a culture of respect and empowerment.
