The NOC Junior Admin is responsible for supporting the Network Operations Center (NOC) team in monitoring, managing, and maintaining network and IT infrastructure. This role involves assisting with network administration tasks, responding to alerts and incidents, and ensuring the smooth operation of network systems. NOC Junior Admin Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizing Enterprise monitoring tools, monitor critical sites as well as production and non-production environments, alerting appropriate team(s) on failure or alarm conditions
- Maintain updated contact list of all vendors and support personnel.
- Forward and analyze all incoming information—alerts, tickets, vendor and IT team notifications, customer calls and reports, etc.— according to documentation and procedures related to management and operation of the environment, including but not limited to: SOPs, maintenance, and support.
- In case an incident is escalated, open appropriate bridge lines and assist situation management in notifying resolving teams, individuals, and vendors; notify additional personnel or groups as requested by situation, infrastructure, or corporate management
- Run reporting, maintenance, and diagnostic scripts, reports, commands, and utilities on behalf of server, database, and network teams
- Perform symptom recognition and first-level reporting of hardware or system failures to appropriate team(s)
- Perform basic corrective or troubleshooting tasks under direction of infrastructure team(s) or through pre-approved procedure(s)
NOC Junior Admin Skills and Requirements:
- Organized, detail- and process-oriented, with excellent prioritization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
- Experience with ticketing software (ServiceNow).
- Experience using Remote Desktop Connection and vSphere.
- Basic Knowledge of Enterprise applications, Windows and Linux servers and enterprise architecture, and networking.
- Webex or Teams conference call operational experience.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing Windows and/or Linux service restarts.
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and ability to follow existing Problem, Change, and Incident Management procedures.
