Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Record keeping and filing of accounting, investment, and other documents.
  • Posting of customer payments and business receipts.
  • Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements.
  • Entering vendor invoices into computer system, checking that payments have been authorized and processing checks.
  • Maintain authorized vendor list, accounts payable reports, files and spreadsheets.
  • Assist in providing management with revenue and expense estimates for cash flow purposes.
  • Communicate with vendors or customers as needed and answer all inquiries.
  • Responsible for printing checks, obtaining signatures, and distributing checks.
  • Secretary of State and PIR annual state filings.

Accounting Clerk Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting or clerical role experience
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Discretion and reliability in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic office knowledge such as copier, facsimile, 10 key, typing, etc.
