Titan Professional Resources is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join one of our clients here in Oklahoma City. This is a hands-on accounting role focused on overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while taking ownership of the month-end close process.
The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Oil and gas or oilfield services experience is a huge plus. Experience with Acumatica accounting software is also highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Accounts Payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor statements, payments, and documentation.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, cash application, collections support, and documentation.
- Review AP and AR aging reports, reconciliations, and outstanding issues.
- Prepare and review journal entries and support accurate general ledger activity.
- Take ownership of month-end close activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, close checklists, and reporting.
- Support account analysis, financial reporting, audits, and year-end requests.
- Assist with inventory, job costing, and other operational accounting needs as assigned.
- Support internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Review and support the work of AP and AR team members.
- Provide accounting support across various functions as needed.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Senior-level accounting experience, including general ledger and full-cycle accounting.
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Experience reviewing the work of others or taking ownership of accounting processes preferred.
- Oil and gas, oilfield services, construction, or other job-cost environment experience is a strong plus.
- Experience with Acumatica is highly preferred but not required.
- Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and electronic document workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
