Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day benefit administration, including enrollments, premiums, claims coordination, and employee communication.
- Oversee 401(k) plan administration and support Flexible Spending and Health Savings Account processes.
- Perform benefit billing, invoice review, reconciliation, and payroll deduction audits.
- Analyze benefit utilization metrics and identify trends to support strategic planning.
- Assist with system testing, maintain web content accuracy, and prepare reports on benefit programs.
- Coordinate activities related to annual open enrollment, including benefits system updates and HRIS testing.
- Maintain and update plan documents, ensuring alignment with system configurations and renewal cycles.
- Create and distribute employee benefits communications.
- Ensure timely submission of federal and state compliance reporting (CMS, ACA, 5500, PCORI, etc.).
- Support all types of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, and workers’ compensation.
- Maintain accurate leave records and generate reports to support process improvements.
- Administer internal security access rights in alignment with vendor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and related regulations.
- Act as a resource to team members, partner with internal stakeholders, and provide high‑quality customer service to employees.
- Provide backup support to Benefits team members and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in benefits administration.
- Strong analytical ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and support decision‑making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefit information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefit administration systems.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, and related requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to learn and navigate new HR technology; experience with UKG and PlanSource preferred.
