We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale modernization initiative company focused on replacing legacy systems with a modern, cloud-native environment. The Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical teams to analyze processes, gather and document requirements, develop user stories, support testing, and ensure solutions align with business needs.
Responsibilities:
Process Analysis & Documentation
- Engage with business units to understand operational workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Development and IT teams to understand and translate technical requirements.
- Document current-state processes using process maps, swimlane diagrams, and workflow charts.
- Facilitate discussions to define future-state processes aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements Gathering & User Story Development
- Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items/user stories.
- Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with business priorities.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to refine and validate requirements.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop test plans, test scripts, and step-by-step testing instructions for functional and user acceptance testing.
- Execute functional testing of user stories in Development and Test environments.
- Document defects, track resolution progress, and verify fixes.
- Coordinate, support, and/or lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and proactively.
- Support change management activities, including training materials, documentation, and user guidance.
- Work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Business Analyst supporting software development or modernization projects.
- Strong experience with process analysis, workflow documentation, and requirements gathering.
- Experience developing functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar project management/development platforms.
- Experience creating process maps, swimlane diagrams, and workflow documentation.
- Experience developing and executing test plans and test scripts.
- Experience with functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ability to identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
