Buyer/ Planner

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute established sourcing strategies and procure mid-level value materials in alignment with company goals
  • Manage purchasing activities to support cost control, productivity targets, and cash flow objectives
  • Generate and process purchase orders, ensuring timely communication and acknowledgment from suppliers
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and lead-time information within ERP systems such as SAP
  • Monitor open orders and proactively follow up on critical or overdue deliveries to ensure on-time fulfillment
  • Address and resolve discrepancies related to receiving, invoicing, or supplier performance
  • Identify and implement process improvements within purchasing operations to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address performance concerns, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to define requirements, address quality concerns, and resolve purchase order issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, optimizing inventory levels, and improving supplier quality
  • Assist with supplier evaluations, benchmarking, and quotation processes
  • Support the implementation and management of supplier contracts and agreements
  • Provide updates to leadership on assigned tasks, projects, and performance metrics
  • Complete special assignments and additional duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management required
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or similar platforms preferred)
  • Understanding of material planning processes, including MRP and Kanban systems
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is beneficial
  • Experience analyzing pricing and cost structures to ensure alignment with standard costs
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and internal teams
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
