Controller Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Lead internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning and financial decision-making
- Supervise accounting staff and coordinate with external auditors
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes
- Utilize Enertia or similar ERP software for financial reporting and operational efficiency
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee treasury functions
Controller Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA certification (preferred but not required)
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Oil & Gas industry experience (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency with Enertia software or similar ERP/accounting systems
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and mentor a team in a fast-paced environment
