Director of HR

We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and enhance all aspects of human resources operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, supporting employee relations, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements that strengthen organizational culture and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic HR leader with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and experience managing HR functions across a growing organization. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required, and experience supporting multiple locations or business entities is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all areas of human resources, including:
    • Recruitment and employment
    • Employee relations
    • Compensation and benefits
    • Performance management
    • Training and development
    • Organizational initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Lead onboarding processes, including HR system training and employee orientation.
  • Manage compensation programs and oversee performance evaluation processes.
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Support benefits administration, including employee communication, claims resolution, reporting, and invoice approval.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and reporting databases.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support regarding FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEOC, and other employment-related matters.
  • Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume review, interviews, and hiring processes.
  • Conduct employee terminations, exit interviews, and analyze feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Update existing job descriptions and create new job descriptions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee retention, and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, including:
    • Talent acquisition
    • Employee development
    • Compensation
    • Benefits administration
    • HR analytics
    • Employee relations
  • Experience supporting multi-location or multi-company environments preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll platforms (Paycom experience is a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products and HR reporting tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
