Sys Admin Manager Responsibilities
- Supervise IT staff, including cross‑training, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor team productivity and service quality, resolving issues and maintaining strong morale.
- Manage resource allocation, project schedules, and workloads.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex system issues and guide the team through resolutions.
- Develop and enforce workflows, policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Oversee administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Intune, O365, SharePoint, Teams, and other core technologies.
- Maintain reliable and secure storage area networks and VMware environments.
- Maintain strong security controls to prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive data.
- Oversee data center and critical system health; respond to hardware/software failures.
- Work with vendors and service providers to optimize technology solutions and resolve escalated issues.
- Assist with budgeting for IT infrastructure and systems.
Sys Admin Manager Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong background in technology management, strategic planning, and operations.
- Expertise in network and security administration.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project‑management capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Azure, AWS, SANs, firewalls, TCP/IP networks, and VoIP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and consistent with attendance and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold company policies.
- 5–7 years of IT systems administration experience (preferred).
- 2–4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in an IT environment (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
