Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter, review, and submit medical claims using NextGen Enterprise.
- Review claims for accuracy before submission (CPT, ICD-10, modifiers).
- Check clearinghouse reports and correct rejected claims.
- Log into insurance payer websites daily to:
- Check claim status
- Verify patient eligibility
- Review payment details (ERA/EOB)
- Submit corrected claims or appeals
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Document all actions taken on accounts within the system.
- Work accounts receivable reports and prioritize older balances.
- Maintain patient and insurance confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of medical billing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of NextGen Enterprise.
- Experience accessing and navigating multiple insurance payer portals.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding basics.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet daily productivity goals.
