Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Procurement Specialist to join a well-established drilling fluids company in the oil and gas industry. This position combines core procurement responsibilities with accounts payable processing and inventory support.

The Procurement Assistant will help ensure the timely procurement of drilling fluids, chemicals, materials, and services while processing vendor invoices and supporting accurate inventory records. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants broad exposure to procurement, supply chain, inventory, and accounting within the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure drilling fluids, chemicals, materials, and services
  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders (POs) and deliveries
  • Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices related to procurement loads
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts while verifying quantities, pricing, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation, stock tracking, and maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Support the preparation of customer bids and technical-commercial proposals
  • Maintain supplier databases, pricing sheets, and vendor contracts
  • Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Warehouse, and Finance teams to resolve procurement and invoicing issues
  • Conduct basic market research and supplier performance evaluations
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and month-end close activities as needed
  • Prepare procurement and AP reports
  • Handle general administrative tasks related to procurement and accounts payable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in procurement, accounts payable, supply chain, or a related field
  • Oil & gas or chemical industry experience is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with vendor invoice processing and three-way matching (PO, invoice, and receipt)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to understand technical specifications related to drilling fluids and chemicals
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines
