Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement SQL Server architectures across on‑prem, hybrid, and AWS environments.
- Lead SQL Server modernization and cloud migration efforts, including planning, cutover, and post‑migration optimization.
- Deploy and manage SQL Server in AWS (RDS and EC2), ensuring HA/DR through Multi‑AZ, backups, read replicas, and cross‑region strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex performance, engine, and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain and enhance advanced HA/DR features (AlwaysOn AGs, clustering, replication, log shipping).
- Implement database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance best practices.
- Automate deployments, monitoring, and maintenance using PowerShell, Python, or AWS tooling.
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and security teams on enterprise initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in SQL Server database administration.
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, HA/DR, and security.
- Strong experience with AWS (RDS SQL Server, EC2 SQL Server, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch).
- Proven success migrating on‑prem SQL Server workloads to AWS.
- Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, AWS CLI, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
