Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and secure core middleware components, including IIS, Apache, SQL Server, and other foundational systems
- Prepare infrastructure environments to support application migrations and data transfers
- Provision AWS EC2 instances (Windows and Linux) that match on‑premises specifications such as CPU, RAM, storage sizing, and OS versions
- Ensure all systems meet current patching baselines and internal security requirements
- Configure VPCs, security groups, IAM roles, and related network/security settings when automated processes are not applicable
- Work directly with application teams to migrate configurations and data from VMware-based environments
- Build new EC2 instances at scale, ensuring accuracy in OS versions, patch levels, and hardware specifications
- Apply manual configurations for network and identity resources (Security Groups, IAM Roles, VPC settings) when templates or automation cannot be used
- Install and secure middleware or base software layers to support the application teams’ migration activities
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Hybrid Infrastructure Expertise: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter and at least 2 years working directly with AWS (console and/or CLI)
- Systems Administration Background: Strong proficiency managing Windows Server and/or Linux environments (RHEL or Ubuntu preferred)
- High-Accuracy Work Ethic: Ability to build and configure 10–20+ servers per week while maintaining accuracy in IP assignments, naming standards, resource grouping, and security policies
- Strong understanding of virtualization, cloud networking, IAM, and enterprise security practices
- Excellent documentation skills and the ability to maintain consistency across large-scale builds
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a migration team
